So I had this really weird dream, and I decided that I will tell the internet about it. Here we go!
So it started out in this cavern of sorts, kind of looked like a dungeon in Skyrim, lit by torches and everything. There were a bunch of people filtering through a tunnel, so I decided to follow them. Unlike the archaic mood of the dungeon/tunnel, these people all dressed and spoke modernly. After a few minutes of walking, the tunnel morphed into a sort of airport terminal. Everyone was going through a security checkpoint of sorts, being filtered by race, and then put back into the same line.
I stepped through my designated entrance, and rejoined the mass of people still walking forward. The airport terminal slowly became a large open hallway of glass and steel, that was very bright. There were men dressed in masks and headdresses and other Central-American-looking accessories. They directed us forward, until we reached an immensely tall and open room, with a view outside. (For some reason, none of the other glass revealed the outside.)
The window displayed plains of pure white, rolling sand dunes. The sky was grey and overcast, and after a dertain point in the distance, the dunes and sky were indistinguishable from each other. A man with a very big headdress and bird mask approached the group, and motioned to a very, very tall glass staircase. I looked around a bit more, not wanting to move right away. The floor I was standing on didn’t completely reach the window, and appeared to cut off some yards before reaching the glass. I didn’t look down into the apparent pit, now curious about the staircase.
Everyone went up the staircase, as soon as the masked headdress man pointed it out to them. I took my first steps up, and immediately felt a rush of contentment and happiness come over me. Everyone talked with each other, happy, and excited to be climbing the staircase. We climbed thousands of flights of these glass stairs- the room just kept going. You could see more and more of the white sand dunes, and the view was breathtaking. I don’t know how long it took us, but eventually we all reached the top of the staircase. You could probably see out of the window for miles and miles, we were just so high up.
The summit was just a glassy platform, clear, so that you could see all of the steps that had been climbed. There was a final masked man standing right at the egde of the platform, and gestured at the dunes, or maybe the air beyond the platform. Regardless of what he was motioning to, people began to behave strangely. Their eyes became blank and their faces didn’t have any more emotion. They just stared out at the dunes.
Then, they began to jump.
One by one, or in small groups, they began to fling themselves off of the platform. When I looked down below, I saw that the pit I noticed earlier was filled with giant shards of broken, bloody glass, covered in gore and blood. People fell into the pit, their bodies lacerated into shred by the glass. I was horrified. I tried to stop the people from jumping, and I tried telling the masked man to make them stop, but they all continued to leap to their deaths. There was a young girl that I grabbed and tried to pull away from the edge, but she continued to move forward, mumbling about how she wanted to see the dunes. I couldn’t pull her away without falling myself, so I let her go.
I kept screaming at everyone to stop killing themselves, and I was so filled with feelings of loss and grief and rage, and I suddenly became a big, flowing creature. I don’t know what I was, but I was almost gaseous, and filled with little points of light like stars. I scooped up all of the people into my “arms”, and I rushed them back down the glass staircase, through all the thousands of levels. I placed them at the bottom of the stairs, hundreds up them, and I stopped the flow of people coming in. In my new, big form, I scared off the masked men, and they ran away to the tunnels. All the people looked at me, and I knew they were scared, and they didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to do, either.
I took a big breath, and covered all of the people that I could find. I held them all and tried to make them feel safe, and eventually all of them fell asleep on the floor. Somebody laughed, and I turned back to normal. I fell onto a clear spot on the floor, and I fell asleep too.
Haha so that was my really strange dream. For anyone that saw this and went tl;dr, it was pretty much a really spectacular and horrifying dream about a glass staircase.
